Thanks for visit Gimp for Photos, in this website are collected all my tutorials about photography and photo editing with Gimp, that is an amazing software if you need to edit your pictures. It allows you to do the basics (crop, resize or straighten) as well as many advanced post processing effects.

I started to use Gimp many years ago, but in a serious way a couple of years ago, and I think that is absolutely the best free software for photo editing. It's extremely complete and can be compared to photoshop, expecially if you are not a professionial photographer and you don't want to spend many money to buy expensive licenses.

Two years ago I started to study HTML to created one of the larger italian website about Gimp with even photography tutorials for newbies. Six month later I decided to translate a part of that website, and GimpForPhotos is the result.

My name is Marco Mora and I was born in November 1983 in the North-East of Italy. I have a twin brother (his name is Andrea). Together we are working on this website and on an italian one, www.mora-foto.it that contains many tutorials about Gimp and Photography in italian language.

My passion for the computer has many years, since I was a teenager. My actual interests are photography, photo editing, and webmasting. Actually I'm not a good photographer, but I'm pretty able in photo editing, so I decided to create this website to share with you my knowledge.

I buyed my first Reflex, a Canon 550D, in the summer of 2010. Actually I shoot in Raw Format, I use Canon DPP (or RawTherapee) to process the raw files and Gimp for the post processing.
